One of the reasons I started this blog was not only to record my whereabouts, but also to start a traveling art project where I pass a book to someone I meet in the country that I’m visiting. I purchased the first of these books in a small store in Los Barriles, Mexico (I wasn’t even sure I was going to be able to find one suitable for awhile, but think that purchasing the book from the country where it is first sent off makes it more interesting). Nothing fancy, but here is the first book I will launch
I’m still debating whether or not I will decorate the first page before giving it to someone else. I have included information in the book so that anyone that receives it can log into this blog and write a post if they desire. I will also take those posts and place them below so that there is a running history of the book as it gets passed from traveler to traveler.

The first of what I hope will one day be 100+ traveling art books has been completed and I hope that I find someone in the next couple of weeks to pass it along to another traveler. The progress of the book can be followed in the sidebar and I hope that those that end up with it will update where it is as it comes into their possession.
I debated whether or not to begin the first page of the book or not, but after helping to release over 300 baby sea turtles, I decided to decorate the first page with the certificate that I received as part of that help:
I’m excited to see how this travel art project works out and where the books ultimately end up. It should be an interesting journey…
